Privacy
This site collects the bare minimum. No accounts, no advertising, no data resale, and no advertising or person-level analytics cookies.
What is collected, and why
“Request a talk” form — organisation, name, email address, date in mind, format and a description of the audience. Used only to answer your speaking request. Sent by email to David Dewulf and kept for the duration of the exchange, and at most two years.
“Press” form — outlet, name, email address and the substance of the request. Passed to the author’s press officer, who uses them only to reply. Same retention.
Newsletter sign-up — sign-up happens on Substack, which then becomes the controller of your data. This site keeps nothing. See Substack’s privacy policy.
Legal basis: your consent, given by submitting the form, and the legitimate interest in answering a request you made.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies. Traffic is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless tool: no personal data is stored, no identifier follows you from page to page or site to site, and only aggregate statistics (page views, countries, sources) are produced, with no way back to a person. Cloudflare is also this site’s host. That is why you are not shown a consent banner.
Third-party content
LinkedIn posts load only if you click “Show the post”. Until you do, LinkedIn receives nothing. Once loaded, the content falls under LinkedIn’s terms.
Typefaces and videos are hosted on this site. The only external call when a page loads is Cloudflare’s cookieless analytics script, Cloudflare already being the site’s host; no third-party advertising or tracking service is used.
Processors
- Cloudflare — site hosting and form routing.
- Resend — delivery of the emails generated by the forms.
- Substack — newsletter management, for those who sign up.
Your rights
You may request access to your data, its correction, its erasure, a restriction of processing or its portability, and withdraw your consent at any time. Write through either form on this site.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
